The Arts Council of Livingston, founded in 1990 is an arm of the Township Council. It was formed to coordinate and promote cultural activities in Livingston as well as to liaison between its eleven member organizations and support the activities of its members.
The Arts Council sponsors events including: Art at the Oval , an annual, juried art exhibition & sale, featuring the work of artists from the larger Metropolitan area, Celebration of the Arts “Gala ; Art Exhibits at a variety of venues: Livingston Municipal Gallery , Senior/Community Center, Livingston Public Library, & the CL Gallery at Town Center.
In addition, the Council is a strong supporter of the Performing Arts and is expanding into literary arts with an annual evening of Poetry.
The Council supports young Livingston artists in the performing and visual arts by awarding scholarships to graduating seniors.
The Arts Council invites residents who are passionate about the arts to actively participate in its activities.
